Oyo Scholars Congress (OSC) joins the people of Oyo and all of Yorubaland in joyful celebration of the Golden Jubilee birthday of His Imperial Majesty, Oba Abimbola Akeem Owoade I.
Marking fifty years of life is a significant milestone in any journey, but it carries added resonance as it coincides with a defining new chapter of service and responsibility. As Kabiyesi continues his strides in this mantle of royal leadership, we take this moment to extend our heartfelt congratulations and celebrate a life already marked by purpose, vision, and quiet strength.
We recognise this occasion not only as a celebration of years but as an opportunity to reflect on the bright future that lies ahead for Oyo and Yorubaland. It is our hope and prayer that His Imperial Majesty’s reign will be long, impactful, and anchored in wisdom – a reign that speaks to the needs of the present while honouring the legacy of our past.
We pray for divine guidance, good health, and continued clarity of purpose for Kabiyesi as he leads with a vision rooted in unity, dignity, and advancement for all. May his time on the throne bring lasting peace, inclusive prosperity, and a flourishing of culture, innovation, and knowledge across Yorubaland.
As scholars committed to excellence and community impact, the Oyo Scholars Congress stands in full solidarity with Kabiyesi’s aspirations for 21st-century development. We share in the belief that inclusive growth, strengthened by heritage and innovation, will define the next chapter of our collective story. We remain ready to contribute our knowledge, networks, and resources in service of that shared vision.
Today, we simply celebrate- a birthday, a monarch, and a new era of hope and purpose.
May Olodumare bless His Imperial Majesty abundantly in the years ahead.
Happy 50th Birthday to the Alaafin of Oyo.
Long live Oyo.
Long live Yorubaland.
