“Faith Ayoade is an aquaculture and fisheries management specialist with extensive experience across Nigeria. She has served as a fish hatchery manager specializing in African catfish seed production. She has also supervised breeding Genetically Improved Farm Tilapia (GIFT) strains at an international hatchery.
She holds a B.Sc. in Fisheries Management and an M.Sc. in Aquaculture from the University of Ibadan and is pursuing a Ph.D. at Bowen University. Her research focuses on Heat Shock Protein 70 (HSP70) genes in African catfishes to enhance resilience and productivity in aquaculture.
A recipient of the prestigious Genetics Society of America (GSA) Presidential Membership Award for 2025, Faith Ayoade is passionate about advancing sustainable aquaculture practices through research and innovation.
