A seasoned nursing professional with over three decades of combined clinical and educational expertise, currently serving as the Director of Nursing Education and Provost at the Oyo State College of Nursing and Midwifery. Driven by a passion for nursing excellence and patient-centered care, I lead initiatives that shape future nursing professionals through hands-on mentorship, curriculum development, and research.
With advanced degrees in Nursing and a PhD in Medical Sociology, my focus is on fostering educational innovation, implementing public health policies, and promoting community wellness. My involvement with the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria as an examiner, accreditation team member, and trainer underscores my commitment to maintaining the highest standards in nursing education.
Dr. Owolabi’s clinical background includes extensive experience in maternal and child health, immunization programs, and community health initiatives. She has led numerous workshops and training programs on essential healthcare topics, such as infection control, life-saving skills, and midwifery advancements, often in collaboration with the World Health Organization and the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control.
An active researcher and published author, her work focuses on topics including healthcare practices, HIV awareness, elderly care, and innovations in nursing education. Dr. Owolabi holds memberships with the National Association of Nigerian Nurses and Midwives and the British Sociological Association, and she is a Fellow of the West African College of Nursing.
